Pärnu is as safe as any other city in Estonia or Europe. However, you should take the usual precautions when visiting Pärnu:
- do not keep your wallet and documents in the outer pockets of your clothes and bags,
- pay special attention to the contents of your pockets and bags in crowded areas and public transport,
- do not leave your personal items unsupervised in dining establishments and other public locations,
- be vigilant in dark streets and parks as well as near places that are party spots at night.
In case of an accident or robbery, call for the police or an ambulance free-of-charge from any phone: 112.
Estonia’s traffic laws stipulate that wearing a luminous reflector on the right side of outer clothing at night or in conditions of poor visibility, particularly in winter, is compulsory.
