Although active holidays are probably best enjoyed in rural settings, the urban environment also has a wealth of opportunities in store. The river- and seaside town provides numerous water-based activities such as cruises aboard a yacht or motor boat, adventurous kayak trips at sea, or swimming in the sea or in the many aqua centres. There are many streets or tracks suitable for cycling or rollerblading within the town limits, or perhaps an action-packed team game whets your appetite? The attractive countryside has opportunities for both active and more relaxing pursuits for holiday-makers who can be spoiled for choice for walking and adventure trails, horse riding, cycling, canoeing to name but a few. Rivers of Soomaa National Park are well suited for canoeing, and boardwalks and viewing towers meet the expectations of nature lovers enjoying a more leisurely pace. Golfers can find excellent golf courses near Pärnu at Valgerand and Audru.
